Hello, Blog!

Welcome to my first post, where I will begin to share my story and you can follow along with me on my journey this summer. I hope to share all that I learn throughout this experience and all that God is doing both in my life and in Antigua. So, why am I going to go live in Guatemala this summer? About a year ago I started to feel deep conviction from the Lord that the goodness He has shown me was not just for me, but for every tribe, nation, and tongue. He had grown me into a strong, confident believer and it was not only selfish but disobedient to keep this Good News all to myself. I felt deep empathy and sadness for those who had never even had the opportunity to hear the name of Jesus, and I immediately felt burdened to put action to my faith for those that have not been as lucky as me to know the Lord. The thought of people having eternal suffering because I never bothered to share the gospel was a burden that I carried with me. I had heard about the World Race many months ago but after feeling this conviction I began to look into missions through this organization. My best friend, Makayla, and I found this trip to Guatemala with the World Race and it was just the perfect fit and opportunity for us both. Spending lots of time with youth, teaching English, spending intentional time with members of the community, serving physical needs, and much more. I knew that this was something that the Lord was calling me to, and so I jumped to sign up for this mission. I am so blessed to have been given this opportunity, and I am so excited to see all that the Lord is going to do in Guatemala! More to come soon...

With love,

Becca
